After his successful debut run at the Edinburgh Fringe and freshly back from the Barcelona Fringe, Halil brings the final version of his solo show Homesick to Sarajevo.
Halil Caliskan’s debut hour, Homesick, is a raw and unapologetic exploration of life abroad, blending sharp observations, witty stories and dark political satire. As a rising Turkish talent in the English comedy scene, Halil tackles identity crises, Amsterdam’s infamous coffee shop culture, encounters with Dutch gurus during psychedelic retreats and everything in between. His deadpan humour and fearless delivery take the audience on a thought-provoking journey through the highs and lows of his experience, offering a bold, captivating yet funny take on what it means to be far from home.
Following the stand-up performance, the evening will continue with a live musical set by Ravicho Bancho, a musical project and bass groove artist active across the Balkan regional music scene. Known for energetic live performances and collaborations with various artists, Ravicho Bancho combines live looping, one-man-band techniques, unique mashups and melodic improvisation to create an immersive, spontaneous sound.
From sharp comedy to infectious grooves, Homesick promises an evening that moves from laughter into music, bringing together two distinctive live acts for a night of stories, satire and sound.
The show is for ages 18+. No video recording during the performance; photos are allowed.
